Some time ago, this article was written about a game made by Exploding Rabbit called Super Mario Bros. Crossover. It was basically Super Mario Bros. for the NES except you could play through it as characters from several other games of the same period. It was a unique idea and made for some interesting gameplay.

Well it turns out that Exploding Rabbit has been busy making Super Mario Bros. Crossover 2.0. It’s due to come out sometime during the first quarter of 2012. The trailer has been released and I’ve included it below. As you’ll see while watching, this isn’t just a simple sequel. He’s added an incredible amount of characters, and it appears as though the game switches between 8-bit and 16-bit graphics. All characters from the first game such as Mega Man, Link, Samus, and of course Mario, make their return. From the trailer alone, however, I’ve noted a slew of characters such as Proto Man and Bass from the Mega Man series, Dark Link, Luigi, and many more. Don’t take my word for it, watch the trailer and see the greatness for yourself. You can also expect a detailed article reviewing this game once it has been released.

About - A gamer since childhood, I'm the unofficial retro gaming writer at Mission:Geek with a heavy focus on the NES and SNES era, but my content won't be exclusive to that topic. To be honest, most of my stuff will be about gaming in general, but if I'm passionate about it, I'll cover it.
